14th Annual Beth C. Wright WALK FOR LIFE
Friday, May 16 & Saturday, May 17, 2014
The 14th Annual Beth C. Wright WALK FOR LIFE WEEK-END benefits the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center in Ellsworth, Maine. This event is held in honor of and memory of those who have been affected by cancer, and helps support the free programs offered by the Center year-round throughout Downeast Maine.
On Friday night, May 16, the DOWNEAST DINE, DANCE & DONATE will be held at the Narraguagus High School. The benefit dinner, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., with music & dancing from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., will offer an especially fun time – wonderful downhome eating & dancing & great music, with no fancy duds needed!
On Saturday, May 17, the WALK FOR LIFE will offer a choice of two walks, both starting from the Addison Town Hall -- a 5-mile loop walk or a 2-mile out-and-back walk. Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m., and the WALK begins at 10 a.m.
Also on Saturday, in addition to the WALK FOR LIFE in memory of those affected by cancer, there will be a Chinese Auction, BBQ lunch, lobster raffle, bake sale, music, and for the kids, train rides and face painting, at the Addison Town Hall or Masonic Hall.
There is no registration fee for this fun-filled event. However, to meet this year’s goal, we do ask that each walker obtain as many sponsors as possible. A minimum of $25 per walker is required to receive a free t-shirt. Please ask your family and friends to contribute to this wonderful cause; we’ll take care of asking businesses for their sponsorships.
