About Our Organization

A Community Cancer Resource Center Serving Hancock and Washington Counties

The Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center is named after Beth Charczynski Wright who was born in 1972 and grew up on Beals Island. After being diagnosed with cancer, Beth started a cancer support group in Machias and later founded the Choose Life Foundation shortly before her passing in 2002. The Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center was founded in 2004 through funding from her foundation.

We are a community center dedicated to providing men and women at all stages of the cancer journey with information, inspiration, support, and hope. We strive to be trusted partners who can help patients, family members, and caregivers in Hancock and Washington Counties transition from concern and doubt to hope and wellness.

The Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center meets the educational, emotional, and financial needs of patients in different stages of the cancer journey: Pre-Treatment; In Treatment; Post Treatment; Wellness & Maintenance. Through a network of partner organizations and collaborative programs, we are now the leading service organization connecting patients with medical providers, treatment centers, social service organizations, and specialty hospitals locally, regionally, and nationally.

The Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center provides all our programs free of charge. The funds that we raise are used locally in Hancock and Washington Counties.

Cancer knows no boundaries, so when you donate to our community center, you’ll be helping your friends and neighbors.

Founded in 2004, the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. In accordance with IRS regulations you may consider your gift to be fully tax deductible.
